Katherine R. (Urich) Novak

Our mother and grandmother Katherine R. Novak, 83, of Kent passed peacefully at home on March 20, 2021.

She was born August 6, 1937 in Akron Ohio to Michael and Rose (Evsheck) Urich.

She is survived by her husband Joseph M. Novak who was her high school sweetheart. She has 5 children, Katherine (Steven), Nicholas, Andy, Annette (Frank), and Timothy (Paige) Novak. She has 8 grandchildren whom she loved deeply Timothy, Vincent, Rose, Brian, Meighan, Nikki Jo, Jessica, and Stevie Joe. Also 6 great grandchildren Kortney, Mackenzie, Brooke, Jackson, Pressley, and Clay.

She is remembered by a smile that would light up the whole room. She had a contagious laugh that will always be with us. She was an amazing grandmother and spent many years tending to her grandkids. If you couldn’t find her, she was usually in her sewing room where she loved making a variety of projects and quilts. She loved crosswords and crafts in her spare time. She retired from CVS and we will all miss her dearly.

Cremation has taken place, no funeral services.  She will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
