Laura (Polistena) Carbone

Laura Carbone, age 70, of Kent, OH, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at her home.

Laura was born April 13, 1951 in Lubrichi, Italy to Rocco and Carmela Polistena.

She was very talented in her cooking and baking, making weekly homemade dishes for family and friends.  She enjoyed talking and making new friends.  She enjoyed gardening and especially growing her own herbs.  She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.  Especially her partner in crime, Angela Panetta. The family would like to thank Summa Hospice and the nurses and doctors that helped her through this time.

She is survived by her sons, David (Jamie) Carbone, and Alex Carbone; grandchildren, Andrew, and Abby Carbone; brothers, Umberto (Francesca) Polistena, Renato (Illia) Polistena; sister, Sofia (Giuseppe) Polistena; brother-in-law, John (Anna Maria) Carbone, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Giuseppe Carbone; brother, Edwardo Polistena, parents, Rocco, and Carmela Polistena.

Calling hours will be held 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory with Fr. Richard Pentello officiating.  Funeral services will be live streamed on the Bissler & Sons Facebook page.  Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or Summa Hospice.
