Lawrence Young Obituary

Lawrence C. Young, age 82 of Munroe Falls, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Summa Akron City Hospital. He was born November 4, 1940 in Ravenna, OH to the late John and Gladys Ann Young.

Larry served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. He was a Firefighter with East Cleveland Fire Department, was a volunteer fireman with the Russell Fire Dept, and a Senior Training Instructor at the U.S. Dept of Energy in Ravenna. Larry was also a business owner building and repairing pipe organs for churches and theatres. He enjoyed his Model A classic cars and vintage firetrucks, traveling to many classic car events and parades. He also collected guns and firefighter memorabilia.

Larry is survived by his daughter Laura (Thomas) Kmecik; son Jonathan (Amanda) Young; sister Marilyn Ribo; loving companion Helen Bevington; grandchildren Chuck and Nicole Richards; and one great-granddaughter Ashton Mae Richards.

He will be laid to rest with Air Force Honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
