Leonard Konopitski

Leonard Konopitski, 90, of Kent, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021.  He was born in Elizabeth, PA on December 24, 1930 to the late Richard and Emma Konopitski.  Leonard was employed as a supervising engineer with Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1988 following 32 years of service.  He was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Ford Retirement Club.  He volunteered extensively with UH Portage for 31 years and made Hook Rugs for everyone in his family.  Leonard and his wife enjoyed traveling, visiting every state in the US and wintered in Arizona.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret May Konopitski on June 8, 2018; his daughters, Carol McGee, Susan Konopitski and Joy Konopitski and his two brothers, Jack and Jim Konopitski.

He leaves his children, Lenny Konopitski of Chandler, AZ, Kathy Wolfe of Kent, Linda Konopitski of Apache Junction, AZ and Mary Stoneking of Catawba Island, OH; grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Tanya, Nick, Kyle, Ashley, Kari, Sarah and Brieanna; and seven great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Friday, November 26, 2021 from 6:00-8:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Burial with committal services will be Monday November 29, 2021 at 10:00AM at Standing Rock Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in his name, to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 313 N. Depeyster St. Kent, OH 44240.
