Margaret (Steele) Starr

Margaret Starr, age 96, of Akron, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

She was born August 7, 1924 in Webster County, WV; daughter of the late Alva and Mintie (nee Handschumacher) Steele. Margaret enjoyed doing hand crafts in her spare time. She loved to crochet and knit or could always be found in the garden with her plants and flowers. Margaret’s gentle, caring nature will never be forgotten. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.

Margaret leaves behind her daughter, Patricia Sexton; stepson, Paul J. Balista Jr.; stepdaughter, Phyllis Rivard; grandchildren, Christopher and Jacquelyn Sexton; sisters, Brenda (the late Samuel) Pritchard and Helen Louise (the late Ervin) Mathis.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Oakey Miller; second husband, Paul John Balista; third husband, John P. Starr; son, James Garrett Miller; brother, Alvie Steele, and sisters, Virginia Triplett, Mary Josey and Joann Holb.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, there will not be calling hours or a service at this time.
