Marilyn Ruth Hardesty

Marilyn Ruth Hardesty, age 90, of Kent, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 1, 2022 with her family by her side. Born August 6, 1932 in Ravenna, Ohio, a daughter of the late Fred O. Reed and Ruth (Plum) Reed. Marilyn was an active member of First Christian Church of Kent. Marilyn was employed for many years as Secretary to the Dean of the School of Library Science at Kent State University.

Survivors include: her children, Steve (Frances) Hardesty of Brimfield, OH, David (Mary) Hardesty of Littlestown, PA, Beverly (Mark) Humiston of Colleyville, TX, Amy Sehm of North Canton, OH (Neal Sehm); brother, Donald Reed of Ravenna, OH; also survived by ten grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Dallas M. Hardesty; brothers Richard and Ted, and sisters Pauline and Carolyn.

A memorial service will be officiated by Reverend Amanda Moore at a later date at the First Christian Church, 335 West Main St., Kent, OH 44350. Private inurnment will take place at Standing Rock Cemetery.
