Marilyn D. (Fink) Silvey

Marilyn Donna Silvey, age 86, of Ravenna, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Heritage of Hudson.

Marilyn was born October 6, 1934 in Allen Park, MI to Alfred and Elsie (Bendick) Fink.

Graduate of Allen Park High School.  Grew up and attended Angelica Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher alongside her future husband, Charles Silvey.  After marrying in 1954, Marilyn and Charles relocated to Macedonia to start their family.  They would then make roots in Portage county.  She was a 50-plus-year member of Faith Lutheran Church in Kent, where she would assist with transportation for fellow congregants and friends.  She was an avid reader and traveler, who loved visiting the beach and camping.  She loved square dancing, golfing and cheering on the Cleveland sports teams.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Silvey; Charles (Marchelle Bobbs) Silvey; grandsons, Danny and Robby Silvey; sister-in-law Vera Abar; special friends, Nadine Sawaya and Maiju Mackey; and beloved cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles Silvey; son, Thomas Silvey; parents, Alfred and Elsie Fink.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Grandview Memorial Park, 5400 Lakewood Road, Ravenna, Ohio 44266. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Building Fund, 913 E. Main Street, Kent, Ohio 44240 or St. Jude’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
