Mark Bissler Obituary

Mark Joseph Bissler, age 31, tragically passed away in the afternoon December 31st, 2019 near his home in Overland Park, Kansas.  Mark was born June 24, 1988 in Akron, to Fred and Maureen (Woods) Bissler.

Mark lived his earliest years in Cuyahoga Falls, building forts, splashing, and laughing with his brother and 3 cousins Alex, Meredith, and Thomas on 7th Street.  He and his family moved from Ohio to Overland Park, KS at age 7 where he did his schooling, graduated high school in 2007, and days later joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve.  He served honorably 2007-2012 including volunteering for an active duty deployment as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom 2009-2010.  More recently, Mark’s career took him outdoors, working at Garmin as a marine pro-staff field specialist, supporting the professional fishing circuits.  He was developing a new love for fishing and learning a few tricks of the trade.

Mark was always passionate about what he was working on, but always with an eye for the next challenge or adventure.  He loved to learn and sought mentorship.  He was happy to share about the latest book he read on quantum theory or Bluetooth mesh technology.  He would also gladly summarize the plot or retell a joke from any movie or TV show you asked for, or even if you did not ask.

Mark’s smile is well known to his friends who will carry it on with them in their hearts.  Mark was a good friend – a close friend for many, and a best friend for a few.  We will miss him dearly.

Mark is lovingly remembered by his parents, Fred and Maureen Bissler; brother, Paul; sister-in-law, Christine; nephew, Raymond; niece, Clara; his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
