Martin H. Tausch, of Kent, passed away peacefully on Thursday, 1 September, 2022 at the age of 86.
Martin was Born 3 February, 1936, son of the late Herman & Eleanor Tausch.
Marty graduated from Canton Lincoln High School where he lettered on the football team which beat arch rival McKinley. He served most of his tour with The United States Marine Corps as a scout observer: 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division Fleet Marine Force Pacific. After his tour in The Corps, he graduated from The University of Akron where he was selected to the A-Key Honary, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, and lettered twice on The University of Akron football team.
As an educator, he was employed by Sandy Valley, Canton Glenwood, Chippewa, Southeast, and Crestwood Schools. During those years he coached football, basketball and track. His Chippewa team was the Wayne Co. League Champions in football, and his track teams won five consecutive championships at Crestwood. For eleven summers he was employed by The New England Area YMCA as a certified Trips Leader in the mountains and streams of New England.
His life was good. He coached some outstanding athletes; associated with mostly positive people; and developed several lasting friendships. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his faithful wife, Lynn, the love of his life; two beautiful little girls, Susan (Ned) Manfrass; and Karin (Dan) Comp. Granddaughter Ariana (Kyle) Lutsic, great-grandchildren, Liam and Dela. Preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Linda Reyes.
A Celebration of Life, officiated by Pastor Eric Bodenstab, will be held 2 PM Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Fred Fuller Park, Pavilion 4, 601 Middlebury Rd, Kent, OH 44240.
