Mary C (Mezzatesta) Weakland

Mary Mezzatesta Weakland, 99, of Kent, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 in the comfort of her home.  She was born in Kent on October 17, 1922 to the late Dominic and Florence Filomena Mezzatesta.

Mary worked at Parker-Hannifin for 22 ½ years.  She loved cooking and her home.  She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Clair “Ike” Weakland on March 16, 1996, whom she married on August 10, 1946; brothers, Anthony, and his wife Audra Mezzatesta and Bruno Mezzatesta; her sister Rose Mezzatesta and her nephew Terry Mezzatesta.

She is survived by her nephew Jerry (Patty) Mezzatesta; niece Tammy (Bruce) Moreland; niece by marriage, Carol Mezzatesta; great nephews, Troy and Jeff Mezzatesta; great nieces, Kimberly Lee and Jennifer Harbour; eight great-great nieces and nephews and two great-great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 1:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.  Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00-1:00PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Traditions Health Hospice Care, 207 Portage Trail, Ext. West, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
