Michael D. Stefanchik

Michael D. Stefanchik, 89, of Kent, passed away on January 9, 2023. Michael was born in Euclid, Ohio on July 22, 1933 to the late Mike and Mary Stefanchik (nee Hritkzo). He was a graduate of Euclid High School and Kent State University with a degree in Accounting. Following college, he served as an officer in the United States Navy.

Michael married Drenna (nee Sprandel) and they celebrated 65 years of marriage. He had a long career in Accounting and eventually retired from the City of Kent as the Tax Commissioner. Michael always loved music and was lead sax player in multiple bands over the years. He enjoyed hanging out with his grandson, Sam. He loved tending to his gardens, playing golf and spending time with his family. Michael is survived by his loving wife Drenna Stefanchik, son Eric (Diana) Stefanchik; daughter Beth (Jen) Stefanchik; grandson Sam Stefanchik and sister Marlene (Doug) Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Lou Zaller.

In honoring his wishes, Michael will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
