Omar Cameron Rashid Burns

Omar Cameron Rashid Burns, 36, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 3, 2022. Omar was born on April 12, 1986. He was a 2004 graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School and for a brief time attended Community College in Ohio.

Omar was an outstanding basketball player who often wowed the crowd with his awe inspiring 3-point shot. He was a tremendous chef who loved to cook for himself, his family, and friends. He had a passion for seafood and especially loved his crawfish. Omar was a creative soul who loved writing, drawing, and poetry. He was a deep-thinking intellectual who liked to ponder about life. He was an avid supporter of the Ohio home teams and a long-time fan of the Duke Blue Devils. Omar genuinely loved the simple things in life, sports, bonfires, friends, family, and fur baby, Bonzo.

Omar leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother Kimberly O’Neil (Steve); father Herbert Burns; grandmother Carole Burns; brother, Michael Milton (Samantha); sisters, LaTeefah (Mike) Zawistowski and Naadiyah Burns; stepfather Jerry Griffin; nephews, Aidan Milton and Roman “R.J.” James Zawistowski; niece Peyton Milton; fur baby Bonzo “Bear” Milton; uncles, Pete (Debbie) Milton, Eddie Milton, Gary Milton, Arthur (Sheri) Burns, and Trevor Burns; aunts, Donna (Mike) Lightfoot, and Sylvia (Anthony) Milton. Omar also leaves to cherish his memory, a host of devoted cousins and loving friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Howard D. Milton; grandmother Margaret “Peggy” Milton; uncle “Howdy” Milton; aunt Pam Milton and grandfather Herbert Burns. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 3:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240. Visitation will be prior to the service, from 1:30PM-3:00PM at the funeral home.  A private burial will take place for the family.
