Richard Blair

Richard Blair, 71, died in Las Vegas, NV, January 4, 2023, after a 9 year battle with cancer. 

Richard, a former Kent resident and a graduate of Kent State University, is survived by his brother, William Blair.  His parents were the late Richard (1995) and Luella Blair (2019), owners of the former Kent Office Supply on West Erie Street.

He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow with Boy Scout Troop 253 sponsored by the Kent United Church of Christ, of which he is also a member. He was also a member of the local youth organization 'We the People' in the 1960s and '70s. He enjoyed many activities like bowling, sailing, and hot air ballooning, of which he was recognized as an Official World Class Official Competition Observer. He was a well-known computer programmer, systems analyst, and consultant for over 30 years and retired in 2003. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 2:00-4:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.
