Ronald Rhome

Ronald Rhome, 77, of Kent, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 in the comfort of his home.  He was born in Brownsville, PA and was a graduate of Beth Center High School.  Ron proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He was employed with the Chrysler Corporation for 34 years, retiring in 2001 as a member of the Management Team.  He was a member of Riverwood Chapel and the Rockton Masonic Lodge #316.  Ron enjoyed hunting and was an avid golfer.  He volunteered as a ranger at Windmill Lakes Golf Course for 25 years.  He was a member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Portage County and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Porter; his mother Louise Brady; his son Ronald L. Rhome; and his brothers, Charles Rhome and Gary Brady.

He leaves his wife Ruth Rhome, whom he married on June 22, 1968; son Jason (Lisa) Rhome; daughter Mindy (Duncan) Kirtley; grandchildren, Mallory, Travis, Connor and Jason; siblings, Robert Rhome, Russell Rhome, Joyce Clark, Sandy Staley and James Brady and his special pup, Gracie.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:00AM at Riverwood Community Chapel, 1407 Fairlchild Ave. Kent, OH 44240 with Pastor Cole Tawney officiating.  Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607 or to the Ben Curtis Family Foundation, 1675 E. Main St., Suite 260, Kent, OH 44240.
