Scott Hershiser Obituary
Scott Alden Hershiser passed from this earthly life on August 9, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 15, 1962 to William and Sally Hershiser, who survive him. He is also survived by his loving wife, Penny, sister, Susan (Glenn) Adair, nephews Zachary and Ross Adair, step-son Scott Mitchell, step-daughter Tara (Rob) Palladino, mother-in-law Judith Pfaff, step-grandchildren Jay Butler, Ava and Mathew Mitchell, sisters-in-law Debbie (Scott) Brown, Terri (Stephen) Mitchell, Jamie (RJ) Bennett, Kim Hiatt, and Kelli Loudin.
Scott was preceded in death by Alden and Estelle Hershiser, Richard and Christine Fessenden, grandparents, and Jim Pfaff, father-in-law.
Scott lived life to the fullest, making friends wherever he went. He had a big heart, a great sense of humor, and loved spending time with his family. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1980, he spent years in the home repair business which evolved into owning and managing rental property, often working alongside his dad. He utilized his home repair skills by building a home on Kelleys Island where the whole family spent many leisure filled weeks biking, kayaking and cruising the island in the golf cart.
Scott and Penny bought a condo in Ft Myers, Florida and that became the family winter retreat. Whether in Florida or Kelleys Island, Scott attracted numerous friends who delighted in his company and kept in touch when he was back in Kent. His warm smile will be missed.
Calling hours will be held Friday, August 17th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00. Services will be Saturday, August 18th, at noon, at the Kent United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Scott's name may be sent to Kent City Schools, Roosevelt Construction Technologies Program. 321 N Depeyster St Kent 44240.
