Shirley (Slease) Kline

Shirley J. Kline, age 92, passed peacefully December 14, 2020 at UH Portage Medical Center.

She was born August 30, 1928 in Marietta, Ohio to Homer and Gladys (Brown) Slease.

Shirley was an incredibly dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, and was known to all as a kind, compassionate, and classy woman. She was an active member of St. Patrick's Church for many years. Shirley's love of life was evidenced by the many friendships she enjoyed and social groups to which she belonged. She was an accomplished golfer and bowler and loved playing bridge with her friends and euchre and board games with her family. Shirley will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her sons Larry (Mimi) Kline of Greenville, South Carolina, Randy (Sally) Kline of Kent, Joe (Alexis) Kline of Stow, sister Cheryl (Tom) Myers of Cuyahoga Falls, grandchildren Theresa (Kuta) (Pascal) deBelder, Michael Kuta, Paula Brown, Dr. Kelly Kline, Katelyn (Mike) Jankowski, Kyle (Casey) Kline, and great grandchildren Liam, Carter, Leona, and Ella. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill of 54 years, and brothers Rogers Slease and Stanley Slease.

A private graveside service was held at Standing Rock Cemetery on December 18th. A Celebration of Shirley's life will be held on a date to be announced. Memorial contributions can be made in Shirley's name to St. Jude's Research Hospital.
