Stephen “Steve” Steciow, age 95, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away, peacefully, on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
Stephen was born August 13, 1926 in Akron, to Harry and Helen (Turkas) Steciow.
He was a World War II Marine Veteran awarded the Purple Heart Medal, a lifetime member of VFW Post 1062 and St. Joseph Church of Cuyahoga Falls. He worked for Firestone as a supervisor for 38 years and scheduled the last tire manufacture before the plant shut down. He enjoyed great food, especially hot peppers and sweets. He loved to cook and garden with his wife and spent a lot of time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Louise Hack and Susan Clark; grandson, Jason (Michelle) Hack; and great-grandchildren, Carmella and Vincent Hack. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Steciow; parents, Helen and Harry Steciow; grandson, Gregory Hack; brother, Peter Steciow; sisters, Helen Donofrio and Anny Palumbo.
Calling hours will be from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, on Monday, October 25th, 2021 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Richard Pentello as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
