Steven J. Howe

Steven J. Howe, 71, of Kent, passed away on May 28, 2023.

He was born on August 31, 1951, in Flint, Michigan to George and Patricia (Watt) Howe.

Steve worked over 4 decades as a certified operator for drinking water and wastewater treatment plants.  He was very passionate about the industry and enjoyed going to work every day.  He created his own business, American Kinetic Environmental Consulting and left such a positive impact on the people he met throughout his career.

When Steve wasn’t working, you would find him on his Pontoon boat embracing Brady Lake or on his golf cart heading to the Clubhouse to enjoy some great food with some great people.  He would also attend some car shows with his 1979 Mazda RX7 that he was very proud of.

He leaves behind his children, Nicole (Matt) Dalton and Patrick Howe.  Grandchildren Joe (Savannah) Gibbs, Jazmin Wallace, Cayden and Haven Howe.  Brother George (Jane) Howe; Sister Shannon (Bob) Mooney; Sister-in-law Camilla (Jerry) Taylor; Nieces Kara (Brian) Howe-Lamonica, Lindsay (Mark) Saunders, Morgan (Jacob) Michel and Ann Howe; Nephews James (Deanna) and Matt (Taylor) Taylor; Great nieces Ryleigh Michel and Molly Taylor; Great nephews Blake Michel and Nicholas and Ari Taylor; many friends and neighbors and of course his wife’s “crazy cat” Temo.

In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Dalton Howe; Brother Tracy (Kathy) Howe; Uncle John Howe; Aunt Rosemary Modders as well as his father-in-law Bernie Dalton; mother-in-law Dorothy Dalton, brother-in-law Richard Dalton and son-in-law Dennis Wallace.

His wishes were to not have any services.  He wanted a celebration of life, in his honor, that will take place in the near future.

Steve always had a smile on his face and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it.  He is deeply missed.
