Streeter Matthews Obituary

Streeter Hadley Matthews, 52, of Hudson, Ohio, was born in Akron on May 4, 1968 and passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 after battling a rapidly devastating cancer diagnosis early this year. As a private person he spent his last months with a few very close friends and family members.

Streeter is preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Parker Matthews. Streeter is survived by sister Marci Matthews of Hudson; twin, Parker Matthews of Kent; nephew, Mason Matthews of Hudson; sister, Susan Matthews, brother-in-law David Evarts, and nieces Hadley Evarts, all of Kirkland, Washington; and Piper Evarts and her husband Martin Bochenek of Heidelberg, Germany.

Streeter’s clever wit and kindness endeared him to many throughout his life journey, which took him down many roads and to wonderful places around the world. He was a consummate chef and foodie, an artist of great skill, and prolifically well-read. We will have no formal services, so we ask if you would like to spend time celebrating your recollections of him, please do so in a way you find meaningful. Streeter would have loved to join you to visit a museum, create your own art, cook your loved ones something special, or read something wonderful.

Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory in Kent, Ohio has handled the arrangements.
