Sue E. (Hornbeck) Conery

Sue E. Conery, 80, of Kent, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024 in the comfort of her home, with her family by her side.  She was born in Akron to the late George and Hilda Hornbeck and in her later years, was employed as an office manager at Mendiola Insurance Agency for 12 years.

Sue enjoyed going to concerts at Blossom Music Center, and going to plays at E.J. Thomas Hall and Porthouse Theatre. She loved the Cleveland Orchestra and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her brother George “Butch” Hornbeck.

She leaves her daughter Lisa Swing-Corney (Rick Corney); son Kevin Swing and grandson Geoffrey Corney.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00AM at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240.  Interment will follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Friday, March 8, 2024 from 5:00-7:00PM at the funeral home.
