Sylvia G (Gilberts) Popson

Sylvia G. Popson, age 78, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Sylvia was born April 14, 1942 in Oak Park, Illinois, daughter of Marion and Allen Gilberts.

She is survived by her sister, Jean (Gary) Friesen; children, Gary (Sandie), Tim (Cyndi), Randy, and Lisa (Joe Dibona); niece, Tanya (Matt) Rupp; nephew, Dr. Tom (Sarah) Holsinger-Friesen; grandkids, Mitch, Andy, Alex, Cory, Jamie, and Haley; great-grandkids, Zach, Kennady, Graysen, Grant, Cole and Eddie.

Preceded in death by parents, Allen and Marion Gilberts, brother, Glen Gilberts, close friend, Bob Parmenter, long-time friend Barb Starkey, and ex-husband Frank Popson.

Sylvia’s passion for God and Piano was shared for 30+ years at Lake Brady United Methodist Church. On Weekends she could be found cheering on the Wisconsin Badgers, Nascar, and her beloved Green Bay Packers, who her 5th and favorite child, Brett Favre (unbeknown to him) played quarterback.

Sylvia share longtime friendship with Sharon Lund and Gloria Melton of Wisconsin where many laughs were shared. Sylvia enjoyed good conversions with good friends Dave Starkey, cousins Debbie, Diane, and Donna along with close relationships with Connie, Bill, and Adair. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she has come to know and love.

Family and friends may call at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, Kent, Wednesday November 18th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A memorial service will be held at Lake Brady United Methodist Church on Thursday, November 19th at 11 AM. Burial to follow at Standing Rock Cemetery.
