Thomas W. Ziel

Thomas W. Ziel, age 82 of Kent, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at his home. He was born July 17, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Walter and Regina Zielachowski.

Tom served in the US Coast Guard and was an executive at ALCOA until his retirement. He was an avid golfer, world traveler, and enjoyed beach vacations and good restaurants. Tom was a loving and attentive husband, partner, father, cousin, and friend. His wry sense of humor will especially be missed.

Tom is survived by his loving partner, Kathy Pyle; daughters, Deborah (Dr. Carmen Woodhall) Ziel and Kelly (Lee Goske) Ziel, nephews Brian (Paula McQuaide-Cable) Rembowski, and Thomas (Dawn) Rembowski, brother-in-law David (Betty Kavan) Rembowski, his extended Pyle family, and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Rembowski) Ziel.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, TUESDAY, June 6, 2023 at Bissler and Sons Funeral Home, 628 W. Main St., Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 1:00 PM, TUESDAY at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Rd., Stow.
