Walter Edward Wortman

Walter Edward Wortman, age 85, of Kent, died on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at UH Portage Medical Center.

Walter was born July 28, 1934 in Bellaire, to John and Laura (Glasgow) Wortman.  He retired from the CIty of Kent Central Maintenance Department after 30 years of service and at Hershberger's Plaza Auto for many years.  Walt was an avid sports fan.  He loved to the outdoors and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Connie; sons, John (Terri Caudill), Randy (Wanda), Kelly, Rocky (Raquel) and Todd (Terri) Wortman; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Faith) Wortman.  He was preceded in death by sons, Walt and Rickie Jo Wortman; parents, John and Laura (Glasgow) Wortman; brothers, William Harper Sr., and Jack Wortman; sisters, Laura June Crow, Virginia Schade, Betty Meager and Helen McHenry.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 7th at the Kent Elks Club.  Services in care of Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 West Main Street, Kent, OH 44240.
