Wanda Marie Yakubek

Wanda Marie Yakubek loved nothing more than blue skies and sunshine, so it was appropriate that she peacefully passed away at the age of 93 on February 2, 2021 a rare sunny day in NE Ohio in February. Wanda grew up in Newton Falls, OH and spent most of her adult life in Salem, OH where she was a secretary for many years for the Salem City Schools. Her later years were spent in Stow, OH.

She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Terry Yakubek and her husband, Nick Yakubek. She leaves behind her daughter, Debra Yakubek of Stow, her son, and daughter-in-law, Troy Yakubek and Laurie Strang of Mt. Vernon, MD, and her beloved cat, Howie.

Wanda’s favorite things were her children, her pets, and spending time outdoors. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in her name to the Summit County Humane Society.
